Bid Optimization
Blockboard's bid optimization can adjust ad impression bids programmatically to maximize campaign performance while minimizing costs. It involves using algorithms to determine the most effective bid amount for each impression opportunity in real-time. One such technique is shadow bidding.
Shadow bidding involves running a secondary "shadow" bid model in parallel with the actual bidding process, allowing advertisers to test alternative bid strategies without using their real budget. This approach enables fine-tuning of bidding algorithms without disrupting live campaigns, ensuring better calibration over time. Incremental Lift
Our incremental lift methodology involves dividing the target audience into two groups: the Exposed Group and the Unexposed Group.
Exposed Group
Consists of users who are served impressions for the specified ads.
Unexposed Group
Includes users from the same audience segments who are deliberately not shown the ads.
Lift Analysis
To ensure reliable results, both groups are matched based on similar audience segments with similar characteristics. This controls for external factors and ensures a fair comparison.
Through the use of BlockCONNECT attribution pixels, we track behaviors such as conversions or site visits across both groups to identify any differences in conversion rates. This analysis helps us isolate the incremental lift directly attributable to ad exposure.
Incremental lift measures the net impact of the campaign. While the definition of a "significant" lift may vary depending on the campaign strategy and product type, a lift of 5% or higher is generally considered meaningful in demonstrating campaign effectiveness.
